At first I was thinking of writing nice long posts about my current journey and thoughts, spurred by my venture back to school and educating myself on tech politics through reading.
However…I realize I am not a concise communicator with words so let’s hold off writing long posts, especially until I actually finish reading my current book or genuinely have something that needs to be said in writing as opposed to my actions/art that I feel more comfort in doing.
Speaking of which, I have picked up the book The Nerd Reich by Gil Duran that has really helped frame my thoughts on current tech politics and my career direction — even though I like barely through the book and it has all just been setting up historical context. I’ll hold my review until later but so far I like how unapologetically it lays out the upbringings of controversial tech figures and the terrible impact they have made. Good read for someone in a program where you might share classes with startup founders or deep tech innovators, or aspires to be one yourself.
I was also considering using this space as a way to share my compiled course notes. Not direct lessons from my professors but because I tend to really dig deep into understanding topics from my own interpretation from different perspectives, I am wondering if that makes this more ‘acceptable’ to share. We’ll check in on this later.
